    Climate Change Vulnerability of BC’s Fish and Wildlife: First Approximation (Opens in a new Window)

    This report outlines a framework to assess climate change vulnerability for BC’s fish and wildlife species and ecosystems, and uses the framework to assess vulnerability for selected species. An accompanying database includes detailed ratings and rationales. The report also identifies high-level adaptation strategies to reduce risks associated with climate change.

    Guidance on Good Practices in Climate Change Risk Assessment (Opens in a new Window)

    ICLEI Canada worked on a project for the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) to author a guidance document on Good Practices in Climate Change Risk Assessment. Climate change risk assessments can form the basis and inform strategies to build our resilience to climate change, and it is important for all orders of government to better understand how to best conduct these assessments.

    Health of Canadians in a Changing Climate (Opens in a new Window)

    This assessment is the first comprehensive study of current and projected risks from climate change to the health of Canadians since 2008. It was developed by a team of more than 80 subject matter experts from regional and federal health authorities and academic institutions across Canada. It addresses the evolving knowledge needs of government decision makers, civil society organizations, and individual Canadians by providing evidence-based and, where possible, quantitative information to help people understand how Canada’s climate is changing, and the effects on health and health systems, including implications for those most at risk.

    Managing Infrastructure Assets for Sustainable Development: A Handbook for Local and National Governments (Opens in a new Window)

    The Handbook calls national and local governments to action and provides them with concrete guidance on how to ensure the resilience, sustainability and accessibility of existing and planned infrastructure investments. It contains practical tools to improve infrastructure asset management, plus recommendations on how to adapt them to socio-economic and environmental challenges of our time, including climate change and public health emergencies.

    Municipal Climate Action Initiative Resource Package (Opens in a new Window)

    This resource aims to familiarize local government staff with projected climate changes in Nova Scotia (notably sea level rise) and provide context for regional adaptation principles. This package explores possible adaptation approaches and includes planning tools such as a cost benefit analysis template, project management template, and list of resources for funding.
